Texas Gun law Help.. would i get in trouble if...?

Ok so I just bought a Glock 17 from a gun show.. I am 18 years old. I know I can't buy ammo yet. Now could i drive around town with my g17 in my middle console with worrying about getting into trouble with the law? I know that it does not have to be registered or anything since i live in texas. please help been looking for answers just not as specific as my question thanks!
