Is Alex Jones (Infowars, PrisonPlanet) just a profiteering fear mongerer?

There sure is a lot of actual tangible evidence to support his claims. On the other hand, he sure does have a lot of doom and gloom type of advertisers on his web sites. Seems somewhat suspicious.
