Looking for Bohemian bakery recipe's?
I'd like to reinstate an old family tradition lost with the early death of my mother many years ago. (I'm now a great grandpa myself). My mother was taught a pastry recipie from my dad's mother from the country of Bohemia that became a family holiday tradition. My memory is strugling to remember specifics so I will do my best to describe what I recall. I do believe they were all deep fried pasteries. One was called "horns" and was twisted dough formed like a semi circle with raisons. The other was a prune filled donut definitely deep fried (I use to help as a child and I remember the deep frier). I'm sure they were high in calories and cholesteral but what a treat. I know it's a long shot but I thought it was worth a try to see if anyone might be aware of a recipe for these pastries. Any advice would be much appreciated.
