How do you disinfect leather purses?

To be honest it's not really worth it sterilizing would be near impossible any way without a clinical environment. However, you should be able to clean them up with a leather cleaner.Consider the germs on money which is handled far more than your purse will have been. When I worked on an infectious diseases ward the consultant there said that the germs on money was nothing to worry about and obviously couldn't be avoided - so I reckon the germs in your purse won't do much harm either.
