How can Erich von Daniken's "Chariots of the Gods" still coincide religion and Christianity?

II know the Erich von Daniken said he was a firm Christian, and he still is even after writing his book. How can the notions presented in "Chariots of the Gods" coincide with Christianity or the idea of God?
