The zipper foot for my old Kenmore has a flag-shaped handle that I do not see how to attach. Anyone now?.?

The foot looks like it should be attached to the back of the foot post, but that is impossible. My machine is at least 35 years old, but it workes wonderfully. It just weighs a ton.
