What if i miss my connecting flight?

I am flying from Fort Lauderdale to New York La Guardia one way with a stop in Philadelphia. I don't have any checked baggage. I am going to Edison, NJ and i am going to take public transportation from airport to my house. There is a 1 hour 50 minute time difference between the two flights in Philadelphia. So my question is what if i don't show up for my connecting flight to new York in Philadelphia? Because it takes the same time and money to travel from Philadelphia airport to my house as it takes from new York la Guardia airport using public transportation. Also i would be home much earlier as i wont have to wait for my connecting flight. would there be a problem with my future travel with the airlines? I am travelling US aiways.
