Why do we name Cyclones and Hurricanes?

There is a list of storm names that we are required to use for tropical cyclones that develop for a certain year. Names are used because it is easier to remember the names a particular storm than an igned number. They are used because it is easier to recall which storm we are talking about if we mentioned Cyclone Anna rather than Cyclone 2005-01. Once we name a storm, we will keep track of it so that it will never be confused with another named storm.
